Winter skincare routine 2017!

Hey lovelies!

I have noticed recently that my skincare routine must be working for my skin as I’m having fewer breakouts and it’s looking much healthier. This makes me very happy indeed as I’ve been struggling with this for quite a while now :). Athough it’s not perfect I feel I’ve got a good base, so why not share it! Sharing is caring you know πŸ˜›

When I wake up, the first thing I like to do is cleanse my face and get rid of any bed grime (wow that sounds gross, but you know what I mean). To do this I put on Body Shop’s Camomile cleansing butter, it’s so lovely, like words can’t even! It’s got a buttery oily kinda thing going on and just glides on, removes impurities and is good for sensitive skin. Win! Then I spray on La Roche-posey Serozinc and wait for that to dry. This product is for oily acne prone skin, which mine can be. I purchased this moisturiser a little while back and I’m actually very pleased with it! It’s got a good thickness to it for the winter months when my skin is dryer, smells divine and leaves my skin feeling great πŸ™‚ and this is Origins Make a difference. After that I throw on Origins GinZing eye cream which does a fair job and doesn’t irritate my eyes. Then that’s me set to put on my make up! Which on a day to day basis takes like 5 mins and I’ve got a separate blog post about that πŸ™‚ Also if I remember I go for a quick spray of the MV organics Rose hydrating mist before I shoot out through door.

Once my feet land on my mat and I’m home, normally the first thing I want to do is remove my make up (providing I’m not ravenous). I do 13 hour shifts though so I know this isn’t the same for everyone. Anyway, when that time in the evening comes when you want to remove your face and chill on the sofa in your comfies, this is my routine. I start with the classic Garner micellar water to remove the majority of my make up then I go back in with Body Shop’s Camomile cleansing butter just to make sure I got it all off. I also use an exfoliating brush just lightly, it also feels lush! I like having a clean face for bed πŸ˜› I normally follow this with my favourite toner Pixi glow tonic on a cotton pad. I then use the Serozinc again and the Origins make a difference moisturiser, Β the eye cream, and a spritz of MV Organics Rose Hydrating Mist. Then that’s me done πŸ™‚ happy days! I can now chill and read for a bit or watch a bit of tv πŸ™‚

I hope you found this helpful if you are looking for some new products to try. Let me know if you liked it πŸ™‚

Why 2016 Was Great!

Hey Lovelies,

Now 2017 is fully underway and 2016 is behind us (whichΒ seems to be a relief for the rest world in general) I thought it was a great chance to reminisce about what has made 2016 a great year personally. For me this past year has actually been pretty damn great,Β obviously it hasn’t all been rainbows and kittens but as a whole its been unforgettable and here is why.

  1. I graduated!

Three years after I arrived in Dundee, I finallyΒ came out the other end with a BSc in Forensic anthropology. This was defiantly not an easy task and once I slept for 5 hours over Β the course of like 3 days or something ridiculous. I could only have done thisΒ if it was an area I found truly fascinating and with the support of my family and friends (such as the beautiful lady in the picture). Although I am still deciding how to venture further, this has been one of my finest accomplishments.

The joy is real.

2. Went on many travelling adventures.

This year I got my travel on and visited Berlin, Talmine (Scotland), and Morocco. All these places where very different and I loved every second of them.

Berlin was so full of history and we managed to pack so much in the few days we were there. Think maps, planning and a crazy step counts. The sausage and beer were top notch :D. Also me and my travel buddy tried our hand at swing dancing after being coaxed with a glass of wine beforehand. ItΒ was quite the experience, don’t think I am quite the natural though unfortunately!

Obligatory Berlin wall pic πŸ˜€

Talmine was my first ever trip with just me and my boyfriend (Chris) and it was a trip which changed our relationship I think, as we realised we actually had a heck of a lot in common.Β Before that I often had my head nestled in a pile of papers, and was drowning in Uni work. Although we didn’t go abroad, we hired a little car and escaped for a while and it was kinda perfect.

We climbed that shit.

Then, Morocco happened! Me and my travel buddy decided to go down the air bnb route for our stay in Marrakesh and Essaouira. We wouldn’t have done it any differently, it was the perfect way to see the cities. The people we stayed with were the most gracious hosts and made us feel like we had a proper home while we stayed there, hats off to you ladies! Now MarrakeshΒ was a hive of activity, just so many people! People who drove down the most narrow streets on a scooter and gave no shits. It was all apart of the charm though. However, it was the markets and palaces that made it for me, simply stunning. Moving onto Essaouira, it was a haven, like so chilled and full of brilliant people and food.

We burnt so badly that day. Damn African sun.

3. I moved in with my boyfriend.

Although all didn’t go smoothly and we didn’t see each other for a long time before we actually moved in together, it all worked out in the end :). Our flat is now our little cosy place and we are very happy here. We even have squirrels outside that have there own names (Jeff and Toby if you are interested).

4. I have learnt a lot about myself.

All of these experiences have led me to discover a lot about myself and although I am no way near done deciding what I really want to do, I have made a good choice taking a step back and having a time out to decide.

That it, 2016 folks! Now, how to make 2017 even better… hmm. hehe! Comment what your best moment of 2016 was πŸ™‚ Also I am thinking of doing a more in depth travel post about the individual places i’ve been, what I saw, little tricks if people are interested?
