Well who says that you have to go away to have a good time when you have some time off work. Not me thats for sure 😀 I luckily had a week off and decided to do some exploring around the beautiful area we live in. Luckily the weather was very kind and made this possible!
These pictures are taken around the Vale of Glamorgan or in Devon (hometown!). I hope you enjoy 😀
I have got carried away thinking about major decisions like masters and getting a car xD so please excuse my radio silence. However, rather excitingly I finally got around to getting a camera 😀 I have been thinking about it for months and I am supper happy I talked myself into getting it.
In the spirit of getting it I decided to take a stroll around Cosmeston Lakes, which is only down the road from me on a nice sunny day to try it out. I thought i’d show you the results 🙂
So this is the first year I decided to send all Christmas cards to everyone dear to me, no matter how far or how long it’s been since I’ve seen them. I really wanted a project to keep me busy so I though I’d craft my own cards, and I am so glad I did 🙂 after a trip of two to hobby craft and some online purchases I was ready to go!
Here are the designs I ended up with, some turned out better then others but as a first try I thought it wasn’t half bad! It’s the thought that counts anyway, so I hope everyone who gets one gets a wee smile on their beautiful faces because if that’s not what Christmas is about then what is! 😛
I have been a busy little bee getting a new flat, new job and well moving in with a boy! Lots of new things which I might do a little post about at a later date 🙂 For now, as we head into autumn when the weather calls for sweaters and boots (one of my favourite time of year! so buzzed!) it becomes a great time of the year to start nesting on the sofa of an evening and reading with a cup of tea… of course :3. I thought i’d let you into what books i’m planning to read and if you have any other suggestions please let me know.
Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn – Now I know I am a little late on the uptake for this one but i’m currently 1\3rd of the way through and its getting really interesting now. I haven’t seen the film yet and always love reading a book before seeing how they develop it for the big screens.
The Girl On The Train, Paula Hawkins – I recently picked this up from a charity event and thought it would be a good read before watching the film as well as giving money to a good cause. Sneaky shout out to a special place called Little Bridge House in Fremington, Devon that provides essential help for children and there families, what a truly enchanting place. From what I have gathered its slightly dark and mysterious, which sounds right up my alley just now and i’m super excited to start reading it.
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, J.K. Rowling – Now I think it’s a bit criminal that I haven’t read this series before but I endeavour to do so and it is on my list 🙂
The Discworld Graphic Novels, The Colour of Magic & The Light Fantastic, Terry Pratchett – Now this is a bit of a different one from the rest, but graphic novels are full of amazing artwork as well as a fantastic storyline. This was gifted to me for my birthday by the before-mentioned boy I now live with 😛 I am open minded and look forward to settling down with this 🙂
I can do a quick update once I have powered through this list on what I thought of them if thats something that would interest everyone 🙂
Thats all for now and I look forward to my next post!
So with what remains of our ‘summer’ slowly disappearing I thought I’d head to the shops and get a few things to get me ready for the new season! Autumn happens to be one of my favourite times of the year, when everything begins to feel that little bit more cosy. I’m talking turtle necks, cosy sweaters, boots and hot chocolates 😀
What time of year is your favourite ?
This is also signalling the start of a new academic year which gives me the fear as I’m going into my final year of my bachelors degree ! Megaeck!! Wish me luck 😉 I’m sure there are many of you feeling the same about school or college… We can do this !! 😛
So as a little procrastination (only one more exam though, woo ! :D), i found myself looking through pictures of last summer and it got my thinking … what kind of things i’d like to achieve by the end of this up and coming summer 🙂 I already have a couple ridiculously exciting things planned, such as my eldest brother’s wedding and words can’t express the level of excitement i have for that! I can just see it’s going to be the most beautiful day and i will undoubtably be a sobbing mess in the corner 😀 I’m also off to Cyprus for a whole dayum month !
Aside from the big stuff, i thought it would be nice to have a few ideas of what i’d like to get up to in the mean time. These are things that i adore doing but rarely get the chance, and i want to dedicate this summer t myself, finding me and being a happy with who i am 🙂 so these are my ideas:
Read as often as i can. Ideally i’d like to get through 1 book every 2 weeks because there are just so many people in this world writing amazing books and i need to get involved ! The the first on my list is Looking for Alaska by John Green (the genius behind A Fault In Our Stars, if you have been in a cave for the a very very long time 😉 ).
Painting. I am part way through one, but that might have to stay up at university so i would like to create one at home that would tie in with my room when i have redecorated. I find painting so relaxing, then at the end you can step back and be like yup that was me, i did that! then hang it proudly girl 😀
Keep up with my yoga :3 This is something i’ve been doing for the past 2 years or so, i mean i am no expert and sometimes it can be a while between my time on the mat, but it is so rewarding ! Yoga with Adriene is absolutely amazing and i am currently on day 9 of her 30 days of yoga, go check out her channel on YouTube if you haven’t already honestly you’ll thank me 🙂
Go on lovely long walks with the family and of course the woofer ! Getting out for some fresh air and exploring the beautiful countryside is one of my favourite things, just ever!
Heading to the County shows. This involves lots of cheese tasting, cider drinking and looking at various bred’s of cattle and sheep! I always have the most amazing time, be it with friends or family.
I hope this has inspired you to think about what you would like to achieve this summer, and feel free to comment with your ideas on how to make this the best summer yet 😀
I managed to find my prefect boyfriend jeans that i have been desperately trying to find for quite a while now! Happy days (Is it sad how genuinely happy that makes me :D) they got rem rips and everything !
Aside from that joy, me and my roomie/bestie decided we needed a girls night in after all the stress of exams and work, and we had the best time ❤ Seriously, if you are in the need of some TLC grab a friend, some face masks, a good film (we choose The Fault In Our Stars, which had us in a sobbing mess), cookie baking and some wine and that is all the cure you need ! We attempted to make Tanya Burrs cookie recipe (link here: http://www.tanyaburr.co.uk/?blog=blogs/archive/2015/05/02/my.chocolate.cookie.recipe.aspx) but unfortunately our baking skills are something to be desired and they turned out just mushy chocolates messes but they tasted amazing!!
I hope you are having a good Bank holiday weekend lovelies 😀
